Najeeba Syed L.Ac Dipl. OM

Dr. Najeeba Syed L.Ac DACM is a board certified acupuncturist and NCCAOM diplomate of Oriental Medicine.  She earned her Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago, IL and also holds a B.A. in Anthropology and Psychology from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.

Najeeba always knew she would follow in the tracks of her large family of physicians, but after struggling for many years to navigate her own treatment of chronic pain, she became aware of the wide gaps that exist in conventional medicine. Her healing journey began many years later after discovering acupuncture and holistic medicine, and at that point, she recognized the importance and necessity of pursuing a career in traditional medicine.

Her clinical interests include autoimmune illnesses, mental health disorders, migraine/headache and acute and chronic pain. She believes that within every person lies a healer with an inherent ability to take part in improving their quality of life.  Najeeba uses a variety of techniques including Kiiko Matsumoto Japanese Acupuncture, TCM, orthopedic acupuncture, gua sha, cupping, and herbal medicine.  She believes a holistic model of medicine which empowers patients to take an active role in their own healing process through good food and lifestyle changes, allows for best outcomes for success.

Najeeba has provided care in various integrative medical settings including primary care, outpatient hospital clinics and community outreach centers. She completed several externships in a chronic pain and trauma program at Heartland Health Center and HIV/AIDS clinic in the Little Village neighborhood of Chicago. She has also worked extensively with predominantly Spanish-speaking patients at a bilingual community clinic in Durham, NC.  Najeeba is a VA Community Care Provider and is honored to provide care to veterans.

Najeeba is also a violinist and loves to perform and teach. She is the founder of Encore Wellness- a health and wellness provider for touring musicians and performing artists.
