Dr. Najeeba Syed L.Ac DACM is a board certified acupuncturist and NCCAOM diplomate of Oriental Medicine. She earned her Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago, IL and also holds a B.A. in Anthropology and Psychology from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.
Najeeba always knew she would follow in the tracks of her large family of physicians, but after struggling for many years to navigate her own treatment of chronic pain, she became aware of the wide gaps that exist in conventional medicine. Her healing journey began many years later after discovering acupuncture and holistic medicine, and at that point, she recognized the importance and necessity of pursuing a career in traditional medicine. Najeeba has specialized in techniques including Kiiko Matsumoto Japanese Acupuncture, TCM, orthopedic acupuncture, gua sha, cupping, and herbal medicine.
Najeeba believes that within every person lies a healer, and true healing occurs when all three layers of physical, mental, and spiritual needs are addressed. Her current practice is evolving away from problem-focused care towards promoting higher consciousness, heart-centered living and wellness through Esoteric Acupuncture, developed by Dr. Mikio Sankey, Ph.D, L. Ac.
